Looks almost certain that we're off to Mayrhofen in March. OH and I would like a couple of private lessons whilst we're there. Could the J2Ski Mayrhofen Massive recommend a suitable school / instructor pse?

As I said to Skidaddle in a PM, you don't expect to have to query something like this with ski schools, you do just assume that all the instructors are qualified.
I don't know how practical it is to ask to see proof if you went with SMT but I know I would. Or just go elsewhere.
With a few years experience you would know quite quickly the standard of your instructor, but a learner would not be able to call that one, a bit naughty I think
but thats Austria for you 8)

Was going to recommend SMT, until I read Nelly's post. Really shocked at that, as the indirect experiences I have of them over the years have been excellent and I can personally recommend Marcus without any hesitation.
Perhaps go for Mayrhofen 3000 then?

Just booked Mayrhofen for 13 - 20th March so we can now start finding a decent ski school. Thought TH might have had a suggestion?

Ask around for a guy called Dave Whitehead its going to be his first season in Mayrhofen but he is a very well respected instructor has been in Andorra for the past 10 yrs. Great fun and really knows his stuff.

Never had a lesson in M but the ski schools all have excellent reputations. I have met Marcus who Skidaddle knows, and he would be great if you are able to get him.
Otherwise the Habeler ski school have as good a rep as any in Austria.
