However, I do find things like Valentines Day, Fathers Day and other non events are just an excuse for people to get ripped off, should they choose to get their wallets out of course. My neighbour felt obliged to buy his Mrs some flowers, and ended up almost going into hospital with a heart attack when they charged him £48.
He only got her some because she would give him s**t if he didnt. Kind of sums it all up for me really.

Possibly, although hes a lorry driver so wont be here all week, but I guess it made for a peaceful weekend!

I get where you're coming from.

However, I like that there's a reason to make a day slightly different. For example, I love mother's day because my boys make me cards and write me poems, make me toast in bed, give me kisses and cuddles all day long, empty the dishwasher, etc, etc, in short - it's a day off for me. I don't want presents, there's nothing I need [apart from ski holidays obviously ]
