I'm a big fan of the plastic slope....to start with. It's great for just getting used to having heavy boots and planks on the end of your legs!
However, it hurts like hell when you fall and once you've been on real snow, there is just no comparison.
If you live near one of the snowdomes / xscapes or whatever their names are, these are also really good, but expensive. These are also top just to get yourself 'warmed up' before going on a regular holiday.
Anyways, let me take this opportunity to plug a beginners week I'm running in Morzine, where no experience in the slightest is required!!
Learn to ski or learn to snowboard on the snow! in the mountains!!
For all J2skiers there is 10% off so take a look and see what you think
Cheers me dears

Do you mind if I pass
I think the second bit is is sound advice - the snowdomes are a good place to get a feel for boots and skis and real(ish) snow. They are expensive - but then when was skiing cheap??

Hi just booked La Plagne Villages for Jan 2010, is this area good for total beginners, there are 7 of us and none of us have been skiing before.
Can you ski in la plagne villages or do you have to go to La plagne centre to ski?
Any info would be excellant
Thanks
