I have had an eventful year with Crystal but have to say that they have come through for me after a bit of persuading on each occassion.

pauljames wrote:Booked hotel golf 12/1/13 with neilsen(still cant believe the deal we got) for 4 after having a fantastic time in les arc in feb 2012 and loved the area. so i have a q about lift pass as we have not booked yet - suspect snowcrazy chris knows the answer:
neilsen discovery £210 online les arc web site £205 so nothing to beef about on that. however the leas arc website does say that book before 31/10(and it asks what dates you will ski)and it gives 15% discount which roughly equates to £175. so this is now the question i have - despite the fact the site says you get 15 % discount the help pages say you can only order online 4 days before you use the pass. text below is copied from the les arc web site.

any feedback appreciated..

Hi Paul James,

Did you get their Website to work? (Les Arcs ski pass that is).
Whenever I keep trying to pay for the pass, it defaults back to the homepage. I'm using Chrome web browser but I wouldnt expect that to cause a problem? I have even created an account and logged in before trying to purchase.

Thanks[i]

More snow in Les Arcs, take a look at the web cams. Maybe it is cold enough for the snow to stay and start forming a base this time.

Remember, for the discount on '15 day and less' ski passes in Les Arcs/Paradiski you need to go online before the end of this month (October) if you want to save money. For season passes, right now the deadline is still end of November.

Check out the new Les Arcs webcams. Much better than last year. Hope they are all like this when they are working. Also here is the link to the La Plagne webcams. Just been loking and some of them are working fine. Snow down to around 2000m I would guess.

Smartski, the problem with ordering on the wrong side of the vanoise Express if you are staying on the other side is that if anything goes wrong with your pass you will have a long car drive round to the correct office to get it sorted out. You are much better off to get the pass where you are staying.

Pauljames, I think that all the details you gave mean that you must order your pass at least 4 days in advance if you want it posted to you. If you want to get the discount you need to order your pass before the end of October.

There always seems to be a problem with getting the webpage for buying lift passes to work. Just keep trying and it should connect, but when it gets busy it can take ages.

You're right of course. I will hold out until 22nd October and hope the same deal is on both sides of the valley.
if I'm not skiing then I'm kayaking.

Another option for ski passes is the Paradiski Zen ski pass. A couple of the people I skied with last season used them for 10 days and saved money on the ski pass they would have bought. If I remember correctly, even with paying for the card in advance online which is very easy to set up, they still saved about 30 Euros each over the 10 days. Plus we went to Tignes and Meribel during the 10 days plus sometimes in La Plagne and Les Arcs on the same day. You simply pay for what you use. Worth checking it out if you want to be flexible as another option.

Here is the link.
