Level of skiing required for different slopes

The French? They can't get the grading consistent in a single area! Their thinking in Val D is if it joins the flatish bit up top with the town it must be blue.

If they graded it as red it would be brilliant as it wouldn't be full of terrified snow ploughers with their confidence shot to pieces.

It's Strange, I would never class Val as a beginners resort, it would not be a resort I would go to as
a beginner.

Classic video Andy....On the 1st day of my second ski week ever i went down the lovely Santons Blue.....about an hour later i got to the bottom and nearly quit skiing...hope they get it open for our week....hopefully be able to handle it now...!
if 60 cms come down this week what % of runs do you think they will open up for the following week if weather is good?

There are loads of runs that are perfect for beginners in Val D, but I wouldn't take them back to base via Santons until later in the week if they're up for a challenge and the snow is good. Much better to bring them down into La Daille and jump on the bus (there's also a great little bar there for a vin chaud)
We've had beginners on our trips in Val D'Isere and they've progressed really quickly.

It is a long time since I have been to Andorra and I can't remember any half decent blacks, but then again skiing is not all about blacks for me any way.
