Hi,
We are thinking of going on our first Christmas ski holiday. I know December can be iffy for snow so I was thinking of high resorts.. Have you got any suggestions of resorts which are snow sure and will have a Christmas feel in Europe.
Thanks
Jo

Thanks. I'll have a look, want the Christmas feel and heard France wasn't that Christmassy. Only 8 months to wait and get the skis back on :)

Hi Jo&Stu, I have never actually been skiing at Christmas, but from what I have seen around that period, the Germans and Austrians definitely seem to do "Festive" better than a lot of the rest of Europe.
If I was going to do a Christmas trip, they would be the countries at the top of my list.

Hi Jo,
The only thing wrong with Obergurgl is that it's quite expensive
It specializes in luxury hotels with spas etc.
I hope you have a great time wherever you go :D

Not sure how you define "Christmassy" but out of last 10 years I spent 6 Christmasses and New Years in Verbier and it was great. Particularly New Year. There are tons of clips on Youtube that show the great atmosphere in the village. Especially when it's snowing. I will be there for the holidays period for a number of years to come, there is no doubt about it. The only word of warning, if you want a meal out book in advance, especially if there are more than 2 of you. And bad idea buying your champagne on a day, queues are hours long.

We have spent a couple of Christmases in Schladming and would certainly recommend it. Christmas in Serre Chevalier was pretty good too!

Italy being a strongly religious country would be worth looking at, maybe somewhere a little more traditional like Courmayeur?
