Hi All
After a bit of advice
My partner and I started skiing last year and went to Borovets in Bulgaria, but found it fairly restrictive with regards to the number of beginner runs and number of lifts etc.
I have read that Andorra is meant to be good for beginners? Any advice on which resort / area would be best to go to would be appreciated. We don't want to go into ski school, we have had loads of lessons at home, so would appreciate any advice anyone has
Many thanks
Marie

Andorra will suit you perfectly, I'd suggest Soldeu part of the Grandvalira area which is huge.
There's km after km of blues and easy reds. If you look at the piste map you'll see it's mostly reds, but don't be put off, most would be blues anywhere else.
We took a group there 3 years ago, including several beginners. Their skiing came on an incredible amount in a week.

I would also recommend Soldeu. I went last New Year with a friend and it was her first time skiing. There are loads of runs for beginners/intermediates. I have to say though that I personally would book into the ski school as you will find that you will still improve your technique plus you will probably get to see a lot more of the area (which is now pretty vast since it has connected to Pas).
Soldeu also has a fab apres ski and you can't go wrong......

Soldeu is the place. Perfect for improving the ski-ing, good instructors and good apres. Check out the bands in the Aspen and Fat Alberts too. There is a band who play there called Sugar House Lane - awesome!!!

I'd forgotten about Fat Alberts, fantastic apres in there.

I agree with the rest of the guys Soldeu has many easy runs but keep off the black home run can be very icy, Pas has the more steeper slopes.

Conditions were superb when we went, so the black (Avet) back to base was a blast. And because 95% of the skiers there are beginners or early intermediates it was always virtually empty. (There is a blue run down as well, or take the gondola down if it is icy or silly busy)
