Champagny en Vanoise

Hi,
Several weeks ago I booked flights to Geneva with the full intention of going to Samoëns in the Grand Massif.
However, the snow is looking dodgy and the forecast isn't fantastic so I booked an apartment in Champagny En Vanoise.
Does anyone know anything about this area?
I do have free cancellation until 2 days before I go, but I'll feel easier having something booked - my preference would probably still be a little closer to Geneva if the snow falls.
Anyone in the Alps at the moment can let me know how snow situation really?
I do know that some areas have loads, some not do great.
