There is a lot of snow forecast to fall over the weekend. Obertauern, from this morning's forecasts, doesn't look like it'll get the worst of it but is still likely to get about half a metre of new snow by Sunday night.
So today's "current" information isn't going to tell you what the roads are going to be like on Sunday.
See https://www.obertauern.com/en.html, which is still showing yesterday's info but should be updated around 09:00 UK time.
If you're travelling in to the resort from the Munich direction, be aware that the expected storm is going to be causing a lot of disruption in that area; anything up to a metre of snow in places by Sunday. So be prepared!
However! The storm is expected to ease by Tuesday, and clear by Wednesday - so conditions on pistes should be fantastic.
From the forecast, that should be an easier journey but - if it was me - I'd be looking at getting down the mountain after skiing on the Wednesday just to give myself a bit of contingency. 8)
Hope that helps - it could be an "interesting" journey but the skiing should be amazing.
It's going to be very similar to Obertauern; Saalbach currently looks like it may get even more snow from the incoming storm.
Wherever you pick in that area is going to be the same; you really won't know exactly how the snow pans out until Sunday - keeping the main roads clear will be their priority, of course, so a lot will depend on how the roads up to the individual resorts are affected.
Furthy34 has been in Saalbach the past few weeks and is leaving today I think, so may be able to give you an update on the roads if he logs in today.
Sorry if teaching granny to suck eggs here, but you're very likely to need chains on Sunday - so if you're picking up a hire car then a) make sure you've got some and b) find a car park on the way to have a quick practice getting them on and off before you get into the snow...

You should be able to get a good idea of what is going on vaa Google Translate.
If anyone is thinking of heading that way accommodation shouldn't be a problem, as the local press is reporting that around 15% of the bookings for the coming days have been cancelled.

Hi, travelling to Obertauern on Sunday 13th January, thinking we should change to a different resort due to the weather conditions, has anyone current information about access to the resort and the lift closures please. We need to leave at 5am to catch a flight in Munich on Thursday

Thank you for that information, I am a bit nervous driving so I'm thinking to change to Saalbach, any information on the road to that resort?

You can get up to date information on the road traffic situation in Austria via the ÖAMTC (Austrian Automobile, Motorcycle and Touring Club) website https://www.oeamtc.at/verkehrsservice/ unfortunately it's all in German, a white circle with a red rim indicates that the road is closed and a blue circle with a tyre on it means chains are mandatory
There is an orange weather warning for Sunday http://warnungen.zamg.at/html/en/dayaftertomorrow/all/at/ be prepared for long delays.

If you are thinking of changing resorts, I would be inclined to pick one that minimizes your time on narrow, windy mountain roads. For example, if you headed to Soll (or one of the other Skiwelt resorts), most of your journey would be on motorway down from Munich airport with only a short piece on smaller, mainly flat roads.
However, have a close look at the lift situation before your decide - a lot of lifts in Soll appear to be closed at the moment due to conditions and the skiing is limited. This way well be resolved before you get there but this would not be guaranteed with the current amount of snow falling :evil: . As Admin says, it should be fabulous once the snow stops and the pisteurs are able to be get out and make it safe!
