There are two ski areas near Bayrischzell, The larger with three quarters of the terrain and a 580m vertical is Südelfeld, a favourite of Munich's skiers with its 20+ lifts - one of Germany’s biggest ski areas. The second choice is the Wendelstein, which is more challenging and with the bigger 932 vertical. There are only five runs here and 10km of trails all graded red or black.

The German Ski Resort of Bayrischzell is part of the Ski Paradies Sudelfeld area with access to 56km35 miles of downhill skiing, with 49 marked pistes, served by a total of 53 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Bayrischzell itself (26km16 miles of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Ski Paradies Sudelfeld ski resort of Oberaudorf.

The skiing is at relatively low altitude, so snow cover can be variable.
