latest fashions in Finland last week

Hi,

It sounds a wonderfull experience....being stuck out in the wilderness in a log cabin...bliss, roaring log fire and a good heraty meal and something to take the nip out of the air in the 40% proof range sounds like my cup of tea....

...be able to put all those Ray Mears programmes to the test :D :D

Well we had TO transfer but I belive with every plane and there's not many, a bus comes in to go directly to ruka. Beer prices about 7 euros for just under a pint. But wine very expensive 12 euros a glass :shock: But we buy alcohol at airport and supermarket much cheaper.
Food is quite expensive as well, if you look on the Ruka website under restraunts'menus you get an idea of prices.
We went to the Ripisen game one, expensive but it was my birthday. The best is the Piste Bar, wonderful place, great lunches and buffet lunchs, then at night live bands and a la carte menus. Zone bar great apres ski place tables to dance on and hooks out the ceiling to hang on too.

It was wonderful log cabins have huge log fire, sauna, dwasher, w machine,drying cabinet tv'dvd/stereo very cosy. Set out in the woods with reindeer around. Bliss.

There could be enough to keep you occupied in Tampere, Tino. When I was driving back from Lapland, (long time ago), I stayed a few days in Tampere. At that time, it's claim to fame was to have the highest gal/guy ratio, in Europe, I think. :shock:

To get back to the subject of fashion, I saw a jacket being worn in Mayrhofen last week. It was kind of red and yellow with 'Racing Ski Team' emblazoned thereon.( It was not being worn by a racer!!!)

I remarked to my partner that the jacket could be either a £29.99 Decathlon job or £1000!!! Next night I saw the jacket in a 'boutique' ski shop - 1300Euros!! :shock:

Conclusion - You cant buy taste!!!!!
