Hello!

Well, It's that time of year again and I'm wondering where to go Skiing in Early \ Mid January?

As it's been so mild in teh UK so far, I'm guessing that Europe might be a bit light on snow?

I've been told Breckenridge will be good that time of year but due its height it will require a bit of time to acclimatise.

Any info \ suggestions greatly appreciated.

Just started off piste so looikng to improve my skills :)
Finally went off Piste!

For Europe, currently some Austrian friends had a terrific time skiing in Kitzsteinhorn last weekend, I'm proper jealous  Saas-Fee is open, Zermatt is open, Cervinia is open. Verbier will likely be partly open on the 12 November.

If you want to go to America, fine, it's a long way, Breckenridge is high, you sleep at around 10,000ft in town. You might feel out of breath, have trouble sleeping, get some headaches, or nothing at all.
There might even be powder, though this is no more likely than anywhere else, and is subject to the whims of the snow gods.

Be aware that off piste in the USA is classified differently than in Europe. Make sure your insurance cover is up to the job, medical bills are high.

Europe.....off piste.....good snow......

i recommend the following from places I've been to, all of which will have good skiing conditions in January:

Alpe D'Huez
Verbier
Serre Chevalier
St Anton
