Ski GPS

It's not just speed it is people hitting the slopes with no lessons my experience just last year, my six year old daughter was skiing between the wife and I and an out of control skier skied over the back of my daughter skis.
I sew red and hammered down the slope, stopped him and while gently grabbing him by the throat only to see he was the young lad who handed us the keys and inspected the chalet at the start of the holiday, we got a text message to leave the chalet keys under the door mat on our departure.
The morel is I spend a lot of time teaching my daughter, nieces, nephews about slope awareness and etiquette and about keeping themselves safe on the slopes but we still seem to be missing a number of people, it is one of the reasons I keep out of half term holiday periods and the more popular resorts.
I don't believe it's luck, some people moan and complain if a days skiing does not go there way blame boots ski's, & some of us just get on with it. I have never had a pair of boots that are as comfortable as my slippers and I never will, some of the best boots I have had have been the cheaper ranges, the most expensive boots I have ever
brought were E229, and they are great. Time to get off my soap box.
So who is off next

Serre Chevalier

Had a week in Serre Che some six years ago the amount of skiing was great, snow conditions fantastic, but I agree with a common fault there was a lot of old slow lifts . Now they could have made improvements over the last six years but that would need a lot of investment, interested to find out if the improvements have been made before I return.
My brother in law swears by snow and rock for their pre & post customer service, me I buy abroad i have found the customer service first class and the product a lot cheaper.

[code]have been to both, though only summer skiing in Zermatt. Both are busy resorts with high altitude skiing. Both are in German speaking Switzerland, both have glaciers.
In Saas Fee, you really get the feeling that the ski area is towering over the resort, the ski area is not too large, and OP without a guide is a no-no, too many crevasses. The village is quite spread out, and I found it a PITA walking such a lot in ski boots. At the op of the funicular is a revolving restaurant, if you can catch your breath long enough to read the menu
Zermatt is a big village. It has a swiss McD's if the budget is a tad thin. It also has lots of tourists in the summer, large coach parties of Japanese and Americans, all going ...."aaah" and taking the same snap of the Matterhorn. It's got lots of history if you are keen. Plenty of OP opportunities and a good alpine centre right in town. It gets busy, I saw a sign on one of the cable car entrances "45 mins from here"...thats queueing time
I went there in late summer to ski, and did'nt get my usual high altitude headaches up on the glacier. The last leg of the KM c/c is a little steep, if you get tourists they will likely be a bit noisy Skied across to Italy where the coffee is better I quite fancy going back in winter, I could see how much skiing there is available.
