We skied Sauze this Easter, had a fab time. Our daughter took her board and used about it half the time we were there. Mainly because she likes to ski too but there were a few flat spots. Enjoyed it and would definitely go again.

So I am sat at home recovering from a wrist/thumb operation with the full intention of skiing in February. The real downside is I work in a school so half term is the only option. I have been looking at all kinds of options, tour operators, chalets etc. the costs are flipping ridiculous, this year it cost over £300 per person more for the half term week. Changing jobs is a conversation that occurs frequently but I really enjoy my job and am loathe to change so I will have to cough up. So where to go? Have already skied..... Andorra, Pila, Les Deux and Morzine. Would happily return to Morzine or similar except hubby going with work in Jan so don't think he will be keen to return so soon. Looking for a largish area for intermediate skiers with an advanced skier and boarder. Accomodation.....open to suggestions. Have done self catering up to all inclusive. Aypur knowledge is appreciated. :D
Unauthorised absence of children

I work in a secondary school that rarely authorises holidays in term times......yet I can tell you that many of our children are still taken out in term time with no apparent action taken against them. I have never been able to go myself in term time therefore my chidren have never missed school for holidays. Except possibly for years 10 and 11 and important yearly exams I see no issue with parents taking their children on holiday.. On the subject of fines.......February half term this year cost me £300 per person more than the week before a total of £1200. A fine of £60 per parent per child would have cost me £120 for my school age child.....no brainer.....if only I didn't work in a school tho. Keen skiers will always find the money so even if the costs are raised during non holiday timesI don't think the industry will suffer.

I would recommend the wrist strap too, we had some great footage. It did condensate a couple to times so keep an eye out for that. Otherwise brilliant camera. Have fun.
