I'll put my mini-skirt and a boob-tube on as it does seem a little warm

I would move to the alps, France or Italy, buy a beautiful chalet and live happily ever after

Hi I suppose every-one knows its my fav place to go. Have a look at their web page it will give more detailed info on the slopes.
I love all of their three seperate ski area's. There are the nursery slopes very close to The Larchenoff hotel, this is where ski school is and some of the best instructors I have come across.
Walk to town centre and onto the Gwastankoff, more advanced but ideal for intermediates, lovely slopes beautifully groomed and not to crowded. All the cross country trails start from around here.
Also here is the ski jumping and fantastic eating places.
In the centre is a fabulous pool with a heated outdoor pool that overlooks the village, ice skating and curling.
Walk through the town, up a hill, you can use ski buses, they are really regular, but we never do, this is the Rosschutte, much more advanced, although good for intermediates. Good snow board park good as well, good fast lifts, funicular and fantastic eating holes on top.
For the experienced expert skiers Seefeld slopes would probably not be challenging enough but intermediate, perfect.
There is a train station in Seefeld and half an hour away and the cost of 5eu into Mittenwald, or a further 15mins onto Garmisch/Germany beautiful resort.
From Seefeld you can if you want walk to all of the surrounding villages, all have slopes, great for a change. Leutasch a short bus away, fantastic slopes.
We always stay at the hotel Alpina which is owned by the same people as The Larchenoff and its the best service, food etc I have ever had so I expect the Larchenhof has the same standards.
All in all I love Seefeld. Any-thing else you can think of just ask.
I think this year the Ice festival and the Nordic cup will be on when you are there, great fun.
Also a trip to Igls for bob sleigh run, scary but good fun.

I'd love to try the bobsled, I've seen both the igls and St Moritz runs but never had a go, a must before I pop my clogs 8)
Too late to get fit

hymac580 wrote:So here's the thing.

After promising to get fit after last years skiing, and stop my burning thighs, suffice to say, I've done nothing ( unless you call golf, excercise).

I booked yesterday, to go on 18th January to Val d'Isere. :D So about 10 days to sort my self out. :!:

Whilst I know that's not long enough to 'get fit', what are the recommendations at this late stage.

I'm thinking of focused muscle toning and stretches, rather than cardio vascular.

I'm forty something

schussman wrote:I am saying sorry as this has nothing to do with skiing ( apart from the beer angle ) but the link below is for the new Heineken advert.
It is in Dutch but you will get the idea.
Turn the sound on ( but not too loud if you are in the office )
Again sorry.

Pays not to fall over too often before lunch

I guess my point is Bandit, I have never paid six quid for a beer and never will, I would normally eat a light lunch, sometimes bread, ham and cheese, sometimes a crepe so lunch for me has never been over the top. An evening favorite of mine Tarteflette would normally cost around 13 euro in the restaurants, the price increase this year to last due to the poor exchange rate would be three pounds. For me not the end of the world mainly because I choose to ski in a relatively cheap area, now I use that term "Cheap" very loosely.
What hit me more was the fuel prices driving down to Italy from the UK last summer, so my drive to LGB in a couple of weeks time should seem a lot cheaper.
Sorry to be a dullard but whats LGB? I just goggled it and it came up as Lesbian,Gay and Bisexual. And unless this is some Gay Pride event on snow i havent heard of im sure i must have the wrong end of the stick.

Well hello big boy, Le Grand bornand
