tima wrote:I know but I have no choice as I live on a island where we don't have ski shops and by the time I have paid to come to England to buy a pair I may as well buy them in the resort. :(

If your going to buy it just might be worth buying on the Italian side in La Thuile

Tony_H wrote:If you are having a week, I would suggest using Niederau as your warm up first couple of days, and then progress to the more spread out runs at Auffach, where theres a lot more to go at. You might even want to buy a 3 or 4 day lift pass, and then go off and explore other areas too, as theres a lot close by.

Auffach queues were only bad over Xmas week when I was there at around 10am. Get there for first lift, and you will be fine. We queued for 20 minutes to get on the gondola, but thats not too bad for that time of year.

Dont get put off the idea of skiing Auffach, as it really is the best of the Wildschonau.

Sorry Tony, but are you saying that Auffach has better skiing than Niederau ?

I can do that, I am quite simple :D
dgou wrote:Niederau or Westendorf in Austria, - sorry not done Italy, but these resorts suit what you are looking for, and can get the lift back down if needed. I have experienced the bit where you have an easy run back to the resort and 'poop your pants' (technical term of course!) down the last bit, and so dread the end of the day! (or what I sometimes have termed a 'brown run' - for obvious reasons!)

Well that piece of humour was wasted, alright then how about Passo Tonale, very easy runs snow sure and lots of Brits, how does that sound

Ault Hucknall, Doesn't quite have the same ring and have we researched that there are two Austrians to every four Brits in the village.
