I had sacroiliac problems some years ago with similar symptoms and after many years of intermittent suffering went to a chiropractor who manipulated the offending problem..i only suffer symptoms such as yours if I am "meandering" about...have you tried alternative treatments ?

I was also told to do exercises to strengthen the stomach muscles as this area supports the back.

I am still skiing and have a few years on you so don't give up hope

i will agree with that...spent 2 weeks in Arinsal this year with a friend who is a relative beginner (2nd year) and he found it great ..easy slopes good instruction and a good package (at least from Inghams) of a package for £200 including ski hire, lessons and pass. They seem to have lots of English instructors and he was very happy with the set-up.The slopes are all up the gondola and no skiing in the resort.
