Can anyone give me some advice?

I know the feeling, been there lots, even had the lessons :D There is a thread running, which is a good place to start..

Other than that, for me, it all started to work, when I put my feet together, spread the weight evenly and pointed my skis down the hill on setting off. Turns for me are more 2 footed, than carved, and my 1st (most important turn) I extend up "2 footed".
Getting my head around going faster than I really want to, I'm still working on

Pablo Escobar wrote:When do we get our Swiss break for putting up with you here?

Pabs I was just about to offer you cheap few days skiing in proper snow, you can cancel that now,,,,, so that was the good news at least for me
Now your bad news, the lap top ( also a Mac ) is going on holiday as well to the loverly resort of Adelboden. You might think is that the same resort as that wonderful bloke Wickers . Yes .
So I am hoping that the hotel does have wi fi and I can keep in touch with you pablo, you're saving grace is that I might attract the wrath of Mrs W.

In my experience the High Street is possibly the worst place to get euros, after the Bx de Change at airports... the spread (between what they will sell you euros at, and what they will buy euros at) would be hilarious if it weren't so tragic.

Luckily the ECB cut rates today along with the Bank of England, otherwise we'd be even worse off. 88p buys a euro; when I was last in euroland, val d'isere at Christmas, we were around 97p for a euro, so you're 11p to the good! Woo hoo!

Anyway. I've always withdrawn money from foreign ATMs for a better rate than you'll get over the counter... they will normally charge a couple of quid - check with your bank who they have the best deals with in Foreign.... of course if you've already done it, ignore this...

I just picked up my Swiss dosh 1.58 to the pound not great but hey I don't care, I'm gonna treat Mrs W to a fantastic break, she deserves that much for putting up with me 8)

I to like caron have re read the posts and still believe Karen and Tony have done nothing wrong apart from voice their opinion of a ski resort, we do that all the time on J2ski. People offer help here all the time whether it is information about a resort to what ski school to use all valuable information for the enjoyment of our holidays, but if we have a bad experience in any recommended resort do we now not voice our opinion of that resort for fear of upsetting others who love the resort. No we should not.
What I think Karen has come to terms with is next year ski outside half term and she has made that very clear in her postings. This is my last posting on this thread if anyone wish to discuss further please Pm me.

Flown into Basel dozens of times but never hired a car. Desks are in the arrivals hall though and hire cars seem to be lined up just outside on the right, so I suspect you just call at the desk and go straight to your car. Basel airport is quite small anyway so nothing is far away!
Make sure you go through the Swiss passport control rather than the French - it can be a pain if you go through the wrong one.

I've hired twice from there. The car park must be all of 100m from the Avis desk :)

Thanks kitenski, remember swiss passport control, should be ok I think
