Some people dont seem to have it, others say they hav,nt but in fact they had it so mild they were not aware of it.

I was covered as a youngster and just have one or two pock marks. This time not so many but in strange places, feet, throat and in my ears just a few others scattered about.

Tony_H wrote:Rose, you have my every sympathy. I had it when I was 19, 2 months after getting married, and I was bad with it for 3 weeks.
One of my clients in Scotland came out in Shingles the week after I went to visit her, and I have been feeling well under par this week with fuzzy head and tiredness, blocked nose and one ear not hearing properly, so I hope its not hitting me.

I really feel for you, its rank.

Thats exactly how I have been feeling the last 10 days, kept thinking a cold was on its way, then the spots. I spent 30mins with a worried grandmother over her grandchild that I diagnosed as chickenpox.

How selfish! Suppose us mothers behaved like that, and left our little darlings to fend for themselves when they were ill, in case we caught it.

I don't ever remember having chickenpox myself, and my mother neither remembered or kept notes concerning her own children (typical G.P. I believe), but my whole class went down with it when I was 11 and I didn't get it. Both my kids have had it as well, and I never caught it. So maybe I have had it - either that or I have some amazing natural resistance to chickenpox.

I think people do generally only get it once, although they can get it several times.

Anyway, I hope you feel better soon,

Ally

Years ago when my son was 13 he had it, his Dad did, kids and Dad next door and 3 people I was working with. They all said I was the carrier but I never got it then.

I do but he's worried about catching it. So is every-one at work

Aren't you supposed to have a week off work?

Yes will be off work now but would have been contagious last week and it is a notifiable disease. Confirmed with GP to-night.
