Porcelain and ski boots don't mix well. But don't let that put you off.

One reason why I always tried to avoid france. There were plenty of them in Serre Che too.

I admit it is not an ideal place for concentration, but as long as you're not trying to read a newspaper, it's Ok

I have sent a couple of PMs out to those I know have been recently, and got a stack of useful info. Thanks to everyone for their contribution. I am booking today.
That will be 2 trips to France inside 9 months, having not been for 7 years!

At last you have seen the light

There's a little project for you and your wife, next ski holiday - find out how far you can go apart with these cans and the string and still be able to hear down it

russco wrote:I have narrowed my next year family holiday down to these 2 resorts!! Can anyone give me pros and cons for both. I have chosen these resorts for mainly childcare due to my son being 4yrs old and we want him in whizz kids where they drop off and pick up from ski school. Both hotels are crystal club hotels and very near to slopes.

Never really fancied either of these resorts, so I better not comment

Btw - I live near Sheffield as well :)

Stayed in Samoens in January last year & had a great time - loved the area - particularly the village itself. If you want to look at some photos I've put some on Picasa at:

http://picasaweb.google.com/Jimandsal/SamoensWebAlbum# There are lots of others on the usual photo sharing websites which will give you a feel for the place. Have a great time. I've just booked our summer holiday, but am still pining for the snow

smashing photos Sal

AllyG wrote:Amanda,
I think the cans do work, but only if you have a piece of string between them, and keep it pulled tight - obviously won't be able to do that over 3 Km

I'm sure I made one of these when I was a child - probably saw it on Blue Peter.

Why would it not work in the mountains, as long as you had enough string :D
