caron-a, as much as it may seem like a good idea it is probably not great. Just because they have dealt with one situation poorly does not mean to say the whole place deserves to be brought down because of one managers actions.

:lol: Purple Bowl is actually in the ski area, ie not out of bounds, didn't get to hike it but elevator shaft looks awesome. :mrgreen:

Things may well have changed, but we were told by the ski patrol in Lake Louise if we were caught accessing certain areas from the 'ski area' we would have our lift tickets confiscated. If we skinned in , from the other side, then no problem.
Its a while ago and my memory may be hazy :( but I think thats what we were told


Hmm doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, there are "gates" to use as backcountry access points but there are no restrictions as long as you are not putting anyone in the ski area in danger by skiing certain aspects (of which there are a few in LL) but it would be daft to ski them. There are some excellent backcountry oppurtunities in LL espeially to the lookers left of Larch.
