I've only seen one in Perigueux in the Dordogne and didn't use it

*politely put mode*
I've never seen one on the mountains, but we do make the odd refreshment stop where the facilities are, I've found, quite respectable and I've never been so desperate as to go to extreme measures.

There are plenty of English speaking independent Instructors and schools in the Tarentaise. It's high time you got away from the Syndicat, traditionally they have very little respect for their clients. You provide a fine example, because you did not get the lessons you paid for, which is appalling IMHO.

I've booked snowboard lessons in Samoens with an independent school at Easter. The only lessons ESF could offer were 2.15-4.45 pm which was too late in the day. Also, rather put off by previous comments about them.

Glad you had a good time although I could feel your stress on the 1st morning!

I'm with bandit on this one too. I haven't been with esf for the last three seasons due to bad experiences.
Glad you had a good time

just trying to find names that jump out at me...
L'equipage under the Transarc gondola is really friendly and cheap.
Le Triangle Noir in the centre of the village is one of my favourite resort restaurants. A bit more pricey.
The bowling alley is fab, definitely worth a visit. Quite intimate, nice blue lighting, good music and bar service . Very chilled.
We used two bars in the evening. They are a few doors along from the bowling alley, I think one was called ambiente. They're busy at different times in the evening.
It's an odd atmosphere in 1800, it seems deserted until you get inside a bar or restaurant.
If you're staying at the Charvet part of the village then you're more likely to go to the bars, etc round there.
There are some mountain restaurants with an excellent reputation if you do some searching.

Have a good one

There were a couple of restaurants and bars that I liked, I'll have to do some research into what they were called.
JonG knows the place inside out, he's your man.

I think this is totally unacceptable. I would've wanted some sort of compensation. ESF?
