You could try The Ski & Outdoor Warehouse - www.skiwear4less.com. They have a store in Carlisle and they charge £9.50 for edge/hot wax or £19.50 for full service. We took ours to the Castleford store recently and had the edge/wax they look fine.

I decided to buy a helmet inbetween ski holidays this year. When we went to Italy in January I had a couple of falls and although I didn't hurt myself it shook my confidence. As we were going to Canada in the February I made the decision to buy a helmet, not because it would give me more confidence or stop me falling over, it just seemed like the right thing to do and this was before the NR incident. Also in Canada it really kept my head and ears warm and was so comfortable to wear. So yes I will be wearing my helmet when we go to Italy and Canada again next year.
