Heh. sorry to upset you about child's ski boots but I didn't realise that the ski season lasted months, as far as I know the season in Europe last about 17 weeks.

Where do you ski if yours is any longer??

You lucky thing!!
If your children are averaging 2 - 3 weeks on the snow per year and really enjoy it and if cost is not a factor then they have to have their own boots. There is always a market for quality boots on Ebay/local paper to recover some of the cost.

It's probably best to rent skis and take proper advice as they will need different skis as they grow/progress. Once again there is a good market for quality equipment on Ebay etc

Don't forget that they will soon be outskiing you and if they develop the correct skills on quality gear not only will they enjoy it more but you will have the peace of mind to know that they are skiing safely.

Difficult decision but I've tried to give my children the best equipment and don't regret it.

Good luck

Sorry forgot to answer second part. There were no Kettles or luxuries in the rooms and they were quite cold!

If you've paid full brochure price for this it is Expensive, if heavilly discounted then it's good VFM

Enjoy

Hi, It's called a hotel but is part of a much larger building

Food was good when we went, had 2 qualified chefs and the staff couldn't have been more helpful/friendly.

Dining room is unable to fit all guests at one sitting so make sure you book the first sitting asap as if you don't you may have to wait ages for
second sitting to start

Situation is good, 100 metres from ski bus stop into Val D'Isere but close to Funicular and bubble up to main ski area. At the end of the day you can ski right down into Le Daille and walk about 150 metres to the hotel

Rooms were a little dated and you would be better off trying for rooms in the 300 number range preferably one with a balcony at the front.

Hope you enjoy your stay
Don't normally get involved in these chats but I think many things in UK are now sub-standard, particularly most services supplied by local authorities - IT'S ONLY LIKE THIS BECAUSE WE PUT UP WITH IT!! Why don't we complain more often and in greater detail to those who take/don't take the decisions so that some notice is taken of what 'The Silent Majority' actually want/demand.

I agree with previous comment that we are very good at 'excuses' but not very good on 'reasons' ; we've come to accept second rate as the Norm.

This weather is unusual but the pattern has been evident over the past 3 winters - how much practise do we need?
I know you're right.

Thanks for your input

Kind regards
Thanks for that but it is my impression that it is the rails that cause the weight and I need to place bindings direct to the ski without rails

If I'm talking rubbish please let me know

Thanks
Hi, thanks for your reply.

The reason that my wife loves the skis is that no matter at what speed she skis they never give way especially on very hard/fast turns.

I've beeen told that the 311,412 or 614 will save approx 350 grams per ski so it is worth considering.

The presenmt bindings seem to have a few layers, will other bindings fit the existing holes in skis or will new holes be needed?

Kind regards
