Hi I would just say that the most expensive are not always the best , i tried oakley and found them uncomfortable ,sold them on ebay and bought some sinner ones , half the price and they are excellent. Try your helmet on when buying them as other people have suggested . Lense colours are important but a yellow/orange tint is fine unless very bright. Basically but from a shop rather than online as comfort and fit are important and dont worry about names and labels! Hope this helps,
Which Scottish Resort?

Im off to Aviemore 1st week Feb for a few days ,i ve skied the Nevis Range a few years ago so know what conditions can be like but this time around Im wondering if Aviemore is still buried or closed due to winds which one of the other resorts would be best to head for , Ive got a car so distance is not a problem ( no funny answers saying the Alps). Im relitavely experienced and have a 12 year old child with me but again she is experienced. Any thoughts would be appreciated .
I was in Morzine mid/late April 2008 ( just before the lifts shut down) and there was enough snow, just get the gondala up to the blues which link to Avioraz, no problems with any connecting there is enough area for anyone at any level to ski ( especially a short break) Some one earlier mentioned LGB I would second that great skiing even later on in the season low altitude but always seems to be reliable.

good hols!
Morzine for beginners?

Hi

I was in Morzine in April 2008 , nice resort ( the town) mainly shops and bars although you have to get super morzine ( gondola) upto Avoriaz where the actual skiing takes place. There are other areas around but the main one is towards Avoriaz , I dont know where the beginners area`s are but the area is extensive with greens and blue runs all over that side of the mountain, we covered a large part of the ports area as they are all connected , Chatel is a smaller resort ( In the same region) which is also worth a look at for beginners but probably less to do for your parents . I have just this week come back from le Grand Bornand which is slightly South west of Morzine ( still close the Geneva) but it is a wonderful resort idea for beginners and loads to do for non skiiers especially if you stay in Le Chinalion which is up the mountain a bit. Just thought I would mention it . Anyway Morizine is great try offpistemadness.com there is a guy called Dougie who we stayed with and who know the region really well. Also if you have not already get the where to ski book 2009 loads to read on all the resorts. Also go online and have a look at the piste maps it often gives you an idea of the terrian you would face which will help you choose the perfect resort for you. Dont know about food as we had an all in deal , the shops are good and the bars were even better, hope the pound gets stronger against the euro by then!!!

Good Luck
Dave

Cool, what about on the face le maraloy goes up with two reds down which is easier I think they are tetras and les chardons blancs, just another option my daughters been skiing for a few years and reasonably confident , I think we went with an instructor a few years back and I cannot remember which run was the easier of the two

I know the area is quite small , I have covered most of the face of the resort but fancy having a look further out towards Tete Annes have you experience they look like easy blues ( I have my 11 year old daughter with me)and do you know the easiest red down from Marloy? Anyone else have any advice its always welcome.
