Hi

I am biased too, but I did pick Morzine as a base for good reasons....

The Portes du Soleil area has runs to suit any level of skier/boarder from complete novice through to off-piste adventurers. Morzine town has plenty of nightlife with two nightclubs and a good selectin of bars as well as restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets.

This winter I am offering accommodation aimed at groups and single people on a self catered basis with a live in host to ensure you get the most out of your holiday.
Prices start at £160 per person per week but you can also book by the night and arrive and leave any day you like.
Drop me a line if you would like more info.

I think 30mins is a little optimistic, more like 45mins. Still not so far though.

Well, I guess it depends which part your staying in... [Maybe I'm equating Evian with Thonon as they are pretty much together. It depends on the traffic as well of course but it's only about 30 km] ... it could be quicker on balance to drive through Abondance to Chatel or along the lakeside and either around to Chatel or on to Champery (which I should think will almost certainly have the shortest lift queues when you get there)
Need to get to valloire! Help!!

Try using www.skyscanner.net - if you uncheck the 'direct flights' it will give you options for two leg journeys

Looking pretty pricey though, you may be better off flying to Geneva and hiring a car.
Snowboards and lifts!!!Help!!!

Take a deap breath and relax.... It's no harder than on skis, just different.

Potter around plenty at the bottom before you get on a lift just getting used to the difference between a board and skis. Do plenty of sliding about with only one foot in so you are better prepared.

I have never seen beginners shuss... of either discipline. Do you mean snowploughing? and sideslipping on heal edge? :?
Any ideas for a week near Geneva in Feb??

Gareth

I can do Thursday to Thursday in Chalet Timaris on the edge of Morzine. 15 minutes walk to the centre and bars, ski bus on the doorstep. one hour drive from Geneva. We can sleep up to 12 in four rooms.

We don't cater, but do host so you can get the best out of your stay without havng to worry about whether you'll be back in time for dinner!! Full use of a well equipped kitchen if you want to eat in, or there are plenty of local places to eat too.

Just £200 each includes a transfer so no need for you to hire a car (unless you want to)

Only half an hour drive up to Morzine and you can pretty much guarantee there will be snow in Avoriaz over new year.

If your heading up from that direction, you'd do best to turn off at Montriond and go up to the lift at Ardent, or possibly go around to Chatel - both will have shorter queues.
