Destinations for Christmas skiing

If you think VT is reasonably priced then next time choose a smaller resort, to save lots more money. You say that you did not cover the skiing area during your stay. To me says that it was too big a destination for a beginner.
If you look at the Meteo Swiss Forecast they are usually fairly accurate T-3 days or so. You could say that most of the automated weather forecasts are quite accurate, close to the time.

Broom, why don't you want to go skiing if it's snowing?

Coop wrote:Just got back from being fitted out by Colin at Solutions4Feet. Nice bloke, did a cracking job of checking my feet out and recommending a pair of boots. I was also very pleased that the pair he recommended weren't the most expensive in the shop, in fact he even gave me a decent price on a pair of last seasons boots instead of buying the current model. All in all, very pleased with the attention to detail and the service I got, now looking forward to trying them out properly.

Nice one Coop  When are you heading out?

No shame, no waste. Your holiday is what you want it to be. However...

My calves feel like they will never work again. I could hardly walk this morning.

I read this and think, new skis, new bindings, new RAMP ANGLE )

Do you feel you are skiing on tiptoe?

Not everywhere in the European Alps is at Level 2. The places where I hang out are at 3 Considerable today. The notice covers steep slopes on all aspects above 2200m.

Scare chairs / lifts

Most unpleasant chair ride was in the US. Very windy day, chair with no safety bar or footrest. It's surprising how much skis catch the wind, and want to pull you out of the seat

Stewart, the feeling will diminish a little, with each chairlift you ride :D
