Do we ever consume or just convert and redistribute. Reality is snow making is an environmental disaster and conscious people should choose their ski resorts based on time of season and accept taking a lift down.

Concur with JL, ski industry is horribly unsustainable in its water usage so sounds like a great idea. Just because has potentially been poorly executed doesn't mean basic concept was bad.

Put your boots on, measure to middle of nose and conclude that 170 is the correct ski.

Mine main observation is that you could probably be a bit more dynamic. More angulation and really trying to drive the downhill ski through a lengthening of the leg. That will convert you from cruisy to crushing.

Must be an exceptional communicator and perhaps now with use of video etc. the ability to physically demonstrate a position is less important. Wouldn't be for me though.

As SB says loss of capacity is pretty limited +/- 20%. Far bigger concern is the competency of CMB to actually do anything properly at a time where there are so many big infrastructure projects in pipeline:
Midi cable replacement Le Tour main lift Felegere main lift. If you can't manage to do a simple risk assessment and make sure there are fire mats and a watchman for routine maintenance how can you execute a major CP? On the positive side it will make for fantastic off piste skiing for those who are willing to tour to the top from the Bochard. Main downside is for that a lot of day tours will now become too big for most people if you have to add in another 6-700m of vertical. |

That is the system and you can also book online. Never had any problems with people being rude in Chamonix, few words of French always go a long way. Not exactly difficult to string a few words together 'Un forfait /un reservation top bin si vous plait' will work just fine.

Has been a while but Cervinia itself lacked any classically 'difficult skiing"; by that I mean there was no sustained slope of >30 deg. Still strap on some carving skis and you can scare yourself silly speeding down the wide open pistes. Add in ample between piste skiing and you don't really need to worry about if the connection to Zermatt is open or not.
