I actually swapped a ski with one of my mates once. One twintip park ski and one short carver. It made left turns very quickly and right turns a lot slower but the skis kept crossing into each other! We both had the same size boots and din settings so it worked well.

I tend not to tie them up as it can be a hastle to find the straps in a bag and do it all up. I usually lean them against a wall or stand them up in soft snow but make sure they are towards the edge of all the skis. Its a lot easier than dumping them in the middle of everyone elses. A small bit of yellow (or another bright colour) insulation tape on the bindings is sure to mark out which are your's.

The same thing happened to me last year in Val Thorens, except I waited at the top of the lift for an hour and they never came back. Had to get a police report, hire skis for the week and claim mine back on the insurance. They were brand new which was a right ball ache. I now have little labels stuck on the back on my bindings with my name and telephone number. |

I have Salomon Impact 8 boots. They may only be 90 flex but they do me just fine. I had a pair of Atomic M Tech which were 110 flex and I think they were a bit too good for my standard at the time. When the time comes to get a new pair, I may got higher.

If you take a digital camera, do not have it in your front pocket of your jacket whilst skiing through trees!
The same applies to mobile phones! |
