This would be a typical "how it used to be" experience IMHO. Both S&R and EB's are not signing up to BSBA, so the customer has to take pot luck that the member of staff has the skills needed for the job.

So they should still be doing the whole insert and heat holding malarkey then? I'll call in at Monument tomorrow morning.

Took my boy to the Covent Garden branch, the fitting was simply try them, and ask the six year old if they were ok.

After the song and dance on mine, I was expecting more...

What was the previous version?

I've had a word with friends who are more experienced skiers, and they've confirmed my leanings towards a pure piste ski.

I'll buy or hire off piste skis if and when I need them.

So, any recommendations in that space?

Cheers

I've been there three times now, and will be there again in a weekend or so.

I'm a newbie though, so I can't really compare it to other places except St Foy and La Plagne - and it's nothing like either of those!

Hi all,

I'm still looking for advice on the rest of the kit Im getting;

Any opinions on Rossignol Experience 83?
Children's skis?
Poles?

A snowboard bag has been suggested to fit it all in - is that advisable? Will It get through SwissAir free baggage?

Cheers. :)

It's not massive, but the ski stuff is downstairs not visible from the street.

I thought the service was good, open, and it's easy from work.

I'm now the proud owner of some boots, my son thinks they look like transformers :)

I'm impressed with how tight and snug they fit above the ankle, and yet very spacious around the toes. I've been happy with rentals so far, but they were always uncomfortable when tight around the calf, and relatively speaking tight on the toes.

The proof will be in the skiing though of course.

I chickened out on the Skis and rigmarole as a bill for £330 is easier to get past the wife than basically a grand.

Next step is to get my boy there for his boots while I mull over buying the Rossignol Experience 83 or not. Other recommendations were the Enduro XT or Watea 94, but don't sound like my kind of skiing.
