OK, before thread descends into nonsense...the games up!!!

I know Andorra is not everyones cup of tea, so please feel free to take tea elsewhere if thats how you feel!!

Me, I had an absolutely brilliant season as most people realised, met lots of new and old friends, and skied my old socks off.

Been home for 3 days and getting itchy feet already. Skis have been serviced ready for ............ Chile?

Soldeu - Rubbish

I'm just back from spending 3 months in Soldeu, Andorra. Really glad to be home, like Tony H I cant understand why anyone would ever consider going to Andorra when there are so many other good resorts around.

The ski-ing was poor, the snow was rubbish and no pisting is ever done, especially on the front runs which I had to ski first thing in the morning most days. The pistes are exceptionally busy, I had to queue once during Spanish Carnaval week!!!!!

The restaurants in town are also poor especially the Bruxelles which charges 12 Euros for a 3 course meal including steak.

The people in town, locals and instructors are not very welcoming and are never seen in the pubs in the town.

There is never any music on in any of the pubs, particularly The Harp which has no atmosphere whatsoever and is always busy for some reason.

The pubs also charge ridiculous prices for beer compared to France, and the skiing equipment is also ridiculously priced, should anyone wish to buy skis or boots.

In short, DONT go to Soldeu, you wont enjoy it!!

Stick to France, Austria, Italy et al

The 5th of March is usually good, although the weather can be changeable year on year.

Snocannon - I note you have picked up that Tony H has very entrenched and closed minded opinions!!!

I was in Soldeu last February in waist deep powder when Austria was green below 1500m. You will have a great time in Grandvalira. I'm taking the snow there on the 29th!!!!

Tony - I seem to remember you swearing yourself off France not so long ago, how does that fit with your trip to Alpe D'Huez this weekend?

Tony hears lots of things. He's a taxi driver!!!
With that budget, and really wanting to impress, the Hotel Wolf in Hinterglemm would be perfect. Best hotel in town, gourmet food, right on the piste, and 100yards from the best apres ski bar in Europe, the Goatstall!!! Job done!!!
But who owns the business? :!:
