Ski Boot Bags
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 67 Replies
Well, after reading through the discussion so far, I think I will put out boots in our main hold bags this time. I could do without the hassle at check in.

I dread to think how I would feel if they lost our bags though. My feet do not like hire boots at all.....
Snowing hard in Norway

We're not going to Hemsedal this season but I like to pop in to look at their website now and again. Looks like winter has arrived nice and early this year. Plenty of snow, even reaching down to the town at 600m. Season may start on time this year on 2nd November.

Ski Boot Bags

This is something troubling me a little. We have conventional boot bags (salomon). We flew for the 1st time when skiing last April. I did measure the boot bags and they do slightly exceed the hand luggage measurements. However, we flew with KLM (Humberside - Amsterdam - Oslo) and they were completely relaxed both ways.

We are flying with Easyjet at New Year (Liverpool - Geneva) and imagine that they will be much more strict. We could pack our boots into our hold luggage but I'd be seriously cheesed off if they were lost, hence desire to carry on as hand luggage. I'm actually tempted to split the boots between boot bags and rucksacks (our children will be carrying a rucksack each but will be hiring boots). Therefore one boot per bag! Sounds a bit mad but I'm sure it would work.
Hmmmmm...the perils of package holidays.

Don't like 'um.

Spot on. I'd much prefer to put the business locally. The tyre fitters only charge me about £12 to swap over the wheels each time. Very reasonable. The owner said he couldn't match the Internet prices but getting within £10 per tyre is pretty good when they are apprx £150 each.

I bought my tyres from a local tyre fitter today. I took in a print out from mytyres website and they managed to Get within £10 per tyre which was good enough for me.
