Eh?

Is there a disadvantage to having Voile crampons over others?
Is there any real disadvantage to Dynafits, especially harder snow performance? / Release characteristics? |

Have you plans to go all out on the dynafit or keep the FRs going?

I think everything there is pretty self explanatory apart from spyderjon on sH's (who is a dude on another forum, BD Ascentions which are the orange things and G3 Alpinist which are the red and white things, they stick to the bottom of your skis so you can ski up hill without sliding backwards. The funny looking bindings are used with a different type of boot but serve pretty much the same purpose! |

There is a pretty interesting thread about it on TGR if you can sift through the BS.. got info about breaks and crampons etc (don't think they have sorted it out yet). In fairness I don't think I would use a din of more than 10 pretty much ever but the again I am like a racing snake.
The fact there is more to the binding is a little more confidence inspiring! |

Yeh I was checking it out, the plastic heel bits (can't remember what they are called) look quite flimsy , not exactly confidence inspiring to look at.

Cheers for that, something for me to mull over when I should be studying. Have you seen G3's dynafit offering? Looks like a hell of a lot of plastic to me....

I think I will keep my eyes open for some cheap deals kicking about...
Small Duke - 1354g per binding (from Spyderjon on sH's). I just don't think I can justify a Dynafit set up for the amount of use I would get although depending on what work I pick up into summer this may be different. A couple weeks fixing some cars could do it so we will see  Skins pretty easy to cut/use with twin tips? I think I would mount whatever binding I got on my ARVs which are apparently quite light...(not experienced this due to current bindings) what are your thoughts on the ARV + Freeride (or similar) as a start-out set up? |
