I suggest Obergurgl areas, just up the canyon from Solden. Great ski school for whole family. One of the higher altitude Austrian ski areas, so more likelihood of better snow conditions. Hotel Austria is great for families. Check the Obergurgl web site for closing dates and ski school sessions in mid April.

Careful how you buy your pass if you plan on a day at Solden. I was at Obergurgl recently and purchased pass via hotel which did not include the Solden day of skiing, despite the fact I requested it. I think you have to get your pass at the lift area to include this option. Any others know?

Will be visiting Europe with young grandkids for week long ski holiday in mid January.
Which Austrian, Swiss and Italian ski resorts most likely to have good snow? Which have best snowmaking to augment natual snow? In specific, what about Zell En See region? Thank you |
