What effect will that have on the skiing?

Is that "end of" until a fresh snow fall, or nothing to worry about?

Unless you plan on doing your skiing "in Town" don't worry about the temps. It does generally get colder as you go higher. Plan to download to save your skis )
I followed the link at the bottom of the post above. In the sidebar on the page, I read this link:

Snowheads - The coolest ski community

Clearly this should say J2ski :D

I was unable to find a link back to here, perhaps I missed it?
Les Gets "Yeti" piste is reckoned to be the easiest in the resort. However, you may want to wait for some fresh snow, which will cover up the bumps and ice, and slow your descent.

I've skied the Yeti, it's quite short, and wondered why it was graded Black. However, if it's bump filled and icy, it will not be fun. This will apply anywhere in the Northern Alps this coming weekend, unless you are a Mogul skier, wanting to pick a Zip Line.

Single trip Ski / Sports Insurance

It's still worth looking at Direct Travel for single trips. Just make sure that the Policy offered covers Search and Rescue.

AFAIK the Carre Neige Insurance purchased with a lift ticket in France, DOES cover repatriation.

If you are in Switzerland and rescued by Air-Glaciers in Valais, then your EHIC will cover 50% of the cost. Better be well insured for the other 50%! Most accidents are taken to Sion Hospital, where your EHIC is accepted for treatment.

I've met quite a few from here, and they are all lovely people. It's great to meet up with peeps.

Some great humourists on here and there are always posts that make me laugh :D

I've saved money by getting ideas for upgrading my kit, and selling some I didn't need to other J2skiers )

I enjoy the Fred Drifts!

Is that grass or rock that has been exposed?

Both, it's right back to the bare mountainside. This slide (and lots of others) is being blamed on early season rain which fell on unfrozen ground. Now the snowpack is warm and now heavy with moisture, it loses it's grip, and all of it comes away at once. The slope does not look steep either, but it may get a lot of sun, I have no idea of the direction it faces.

It's great that no-one was injured, and a graphic example of why the current risk level is Considerable (3).
