Money is certainly tighter this year with the economic slow down. Builders / developers who were building houses are now competing with the smaller guy like me and doing patios, decking, porches etc. Larger companies like Anglia & Everest are banging their prices right down and matching the little guy on quotes. Really hard at the minute to get the jobs in.
I'm putting what money I can away to ensure we go skiing. During our summer break we'll head to the beach (hopefully), take our boat out for a couple of days, go surfing, hire kayaks, take the bikes out. With the amazing countryside, beaches and visitor attractions we have in Cornwall and the UK I can see why people stay in this country. There's no such thing as bad weather, just people wearing the wrong clothes. Yes, it would be great to have some more sunshine but you cannot knock those who can't or don't want to go abroad.

Agree with you any small companies/building/windows etc the economic down turn is really affecting them. Two years ago my hubby was fitting a conservatory a month, 4 or 5 complete sets of windows and doors. Although he still gets a bit coming in he is mostly doing repairs and patching up, it gives him a job every day but not huge money. The bigger companys are definately dropping their prices.

No you dont, you can claim expenses and a lunch and loss of earnings up to £60 per day, big deal. But my employers will pay my wages and any money apart from luch and travel expenses I get they will deduct off me the following month.
I have the chance to defer the date with a good reason, but am only allowed one deferral and must attend some when in the year.
I have decided to defer I have valid reason, new job, key worker in the flu pandemic and although I am starting a new job the third week I will be on holiday in Kefalonia. It you get on a case that goes on longer than a fortnight you have to stay and I am not losing my holiday.
A work colleague was called last year and she had to attend the court every day for a fortnight but could not be on the jury as most of the cases were for people we know as LOCALS or our Customers.

I will be starting a new job shortly, really looking forward to it and I cant believe what happened. The day I start I have been called for two weeks Jury Service. Absolute nightmare.

I popped out in my lunch break to-day got a few holiday brochures, (as if I did,nt have enough already). Picked up an Inghams villa holiday cat. can not believe what I saw. A villa in Cote D'Azur peak season price £32,000 per week. Yes its in 3000 acres, has direct access to the sea and mooring dock, it had 6 bedrooms and a private pool. But 32 grand per week that obscene, who could pay that sort of money.

I cant believe I am about to suggest this but a bit of advice about swinw flu. If you are about to go on your hols and you go down with swine flu, you are being asked not to travel. Check with your travel insurance that you are covered for cancellation for a pandemic. If you are covered they normally require a doctors certificate, the GPS will not be writing sick certificates for swine flu. So your only proof will be your unique number for Tamiflu. Even if you have no intention of taking tamiflu you would be advised to get some-one to collect it for you and retain a copy of your unique number as proof that you were prescribed it. A waste of money I know but it could save the cost of cancelling your holiday.

We have signs up but the idiots obviously cant read. How was your Son on Tamiflu did he experience any side effects Tony?

He spent 4 days feeling lousy and then has made an improvement every day since, and managed to go out to his GF's parents anniversary party on saturday night.

I don't think he had any side affects. Although one of his legs fell off on Thursday.....

Can you buy just one ski and one boot

It is for complete beginners but I am a good actress. Fake a few lessons, have the kit and lift passes for the afternoons free.
