Hi Re: skiing in Abondance, the ski slopes are unlikely to open this year 2012, however don't be put off by that, the skiing in La Chapelle (less than 5mins)and Chatel (15mins) from Abondance is absolutley fantastic and of course you then have access to the whole of the port de Soleil, biggest in europe! Having a car is an advantage and there are also ski buses. I know because I have chalet in Abondance and go very year. Can't wait for the snow to come this year...
