If you've tried some on, you must have found that one particularly more comfortable and better fit than any of the others, no? Therefore, you buy whatever size it was you tried on and that felt the best.

Or are you sure that its not a coincidence that it looks smartest and goes with your outfit??? )

As for getting it out there, pack it in your suitcase. I do not believe you have any other options.

Alright, calm down

The extremely helpful and knowledgeable (not) assistant was contradicting himself in saying that if I could feel it anywhere it may irritate me by the end of the day, then he told me I needed to be able to feel it . I like to reflect. And, it's a complete coincidence that it was the most comfortable, there were others that I liked though and I've seen others on the internet that I prefer but they didn't have.

Helmet advice

I've decided that I'd like to wear a helmet, I think it'll really help my confidence. I tried a few on today with my goggles and have decided, after reflection, that I'm going to go for this one http://www.salomon.com/uk/#/ski/helmets/helmets/icon-origins. It was the most comfortable and, coincidentally, looked the best on me of all the ones I tried [it also goes with my current outfit but that's extremely unimportant, obviously ].

So, two questions. Firstly, how do I know which size is right? I could feel the small size around my temples, it wasn't pressure though. I could hardly feel the medium size against my head. Both felt very comfortable but the small felt snug and I was more aware of it which may be better psychologically.

Secondly, how do you carry it when you travel? Do you pack it? I've seen helmets attached to hand luggage before but I'm sure I read somewhere that they were clamping down on this. Is that right?

Ally

definitely not an alpaca, I've seen many of those. It's the second biggest Irish Wolfhound in the world if memory serves?
