I see an exchange rate at 1 GBP = 1.10 EUR on my screen at the moment... that rate is going to hurt a lot come ski time in Euroland.
:-(
Really? It's got to have something to do with the US economy, apparently one of the big to do's at the G 20 summit was to start coming up with a "level" international currency.
Brucie wrote:Well, looks like its time to start thinking about ski-ing again. Hope everyone had a great off-season. Mine went well until mountain biking in Slovenia 6 weeks ago when old Brucie here managed to have a head on collision with a car on a mountain road!!

Result - 6 broken ribs, lung problems and a 7 day stay in local Hospital. The good news is that it could have been worse and I live to fight another day. Bad news is that I am still Hors de Combat.

More good things are that I have met many Slovenian friends, and by the way it is a beautiful country, and I should be okay for the forthcoming season.

Sorry to hear about other peoples mishaps. Think we should all stick to safe sports like skiing and boarding :D

 Heck yeah it could have been worse! Pretty soon the only thing you'll have to worry about is lift lines and pesky avalanches .

Ancient like Stonehenge, Babylon, Persia my "thing" is from cave paintings some 35,000 years back till the Italian Renaissance. It's all just amazing to me. Oddly enough I fell in love with Art History while working on my general classes for aerospace engineering.
Apparently there are some really interesting things near the Salzklammer See area that I'd live to rummage for evidence of bronze age livin'. I've actually never heard of Walde Defregger, I'm sure that's like saying I don't know who did the 1480 painting of the "birth of Venus"

Too bad while I had the chance to see Florence in 07' it was burning :(

Great to hear from you guys! 8) What's everyone been up to?
Vancouver anyone?

I was thinking about either Aspen or Vancouver during the Olympics for a weekend getaway ( cause that's all my butt can probably afford)

Anyone around here looking to go?
Oh no Rose that bites!! Is it all purple and gross looking?

I've actually been going to school here in the US for about 5 years and I had a few classes/hours to finish up so I went where there'd be no distractions and all the Zillertal Pils; not to mention the schnaps I could hammer down. Made school much more fun :D

Hello all my pals! It's so good to see you, rather read you all again! I've been in Austria getting a degree in German and ancient art history.

I'm chomping at the bit to start the new season! :D
