Coach transfer was part of the package for me Ian - flying from Newcastle doesn't leave too much flexibility......
And yes you can tell the Trepalle story (I know it but others may not) |
|
yes - there was talk of a merger between the two not long ago but it obviously never happened - that's what's confused my very little brain  |

I've never had the bottle to try the Face - as you say always icy and full of bodies
The gully into La Daille? - do you mean the last drop of the Ok/Orange runs? worst thing round there is the Green run - if that's a beginners way down then I'll eat my jacket, gloves and sallos as well as my (obligatory bobble) hat! |

You used the "Face" to teach yourself how to ski on Ice?????
'Nuff respect - you have the Cahoonas! 8) |

Sauze is great fun as Tony says but snow record is patchy - when I was there last they cancelled all beginners Boarding as there was no snow, only ice, and they were breaking too many collarbones....
That said some friends went 2 years ago and had more snow than they'd seen anywhere else The Sella Ronda has LOADS of skiing but a lot may be wasted on your beginners - dunno how they carve up the lift pass for local/full area pass so you may end up paying for a load of terrain you'll never see TBH though I think that with the Euro crisis then Italy won't be that much cheaper than France this year IMHO (unless you're comparing Sauze with Courchvel 1850 dahlings.....) |

I flew to Innsbruck the time I went to Livigno and it was still 4 hours on the coach......But the innacessibility of Livigno is what makes it cheap (duty free status as a reward for holding the Italian border) and also explains why the neighbouring village is called Trepalle....... |

Weirdly I'm going Inghams this year and for the first time ever the flight isn't to Geneva from newcastle with TC at around 2pm - its a daft o'clock in the morning Jet2 to Chambery jobbie
I'm now triple grateful for this: shorter transfer, extra half day in resort and not affected by this news Oh and there's snow in the Espace Killy..... |

I do belive that Crystal is part of that group too - think Its only Inghams of the "high street TO" thats any different
Big problem may be that a lot of smaller TOs use Thomas Cook/First Choice charters If you're not booked with Squeezyjet/jet2 etc than now may be the time |
