Hi Nelly,
I'm planning on going to London sometime over the Christmas holidays - any good? Tony - I can get away from the cave more often now, because we have less visiting cavemen that I have to clean for. And I was, in fact, in London a couple of weeks ago on family business. Have you been in London lately during the weekend? The tube system is a complete disaster! We had to get out at Baker Street and catch a replacement bus, and then the following day they'd even shut the overground train I wanted and replaced it with a bus. Something to do with the Olympics I suspect. Ally |

It partly depends on the currency exchange rate - i.e. the rate the T.O. used to work out their prices, and the rate at the time you buy the lift pass in resort.
I am currently watching the Euro rate to work out the best time to pay the balance on our apartment, our ski lessons, and our lift passes. It can easily move by 10%. Ally |

You definitely get lighter with altitude, because weight = mg i.e. your mass, which is constant (unless you eat too much chocolate!) multiplied by the force of gravity, g, which decreases the further you get from the centre of the earth.
You must have had something like wet washing in your suitcase, or you were wearing lighter clothes going back, or you were carrying less in your hand luggage going back, or else their scales were wrong. Ally |

Nelly,
You can come to Courchevel with us, if you like :D Or, failing that, I'll let you know next time I'm in London and we can go to Milton Keynes or somewhere, Ally |

I must admit I was very surprised, as well, when we flew to Geneva with Easyjet a few weeks ago at the 'small suitcases' people were using as hand luggage.
There was a measuring box, by the checking in desks, but the Easyjet staff didn't seem bothered about using it. And, while we're talking about other passengers' annoying habits - I was quite confused not to be given a seat number, but just to be told I was in group B for boarding, and we patiently waited for the group B announcement only to discover that apparently we were the only 2 people in group B, and everyone else had already got on the plane, hogged all the overhead locker space, and we had to sit separately because there weren't any double seats left. That was in Bristol airport. However, flying back was quite different. The French/Swiss airport staff made everyone wait and actually board in their correct groups, and we did get seats together, and locker space. Ally |

I had a look at the 16th December, Canada one, for Pablo, advertised at £329-.
If he's going on his own (I don't know if there is a Mrs Escobar yet) and flying from Manchester (closer to Colombia I thought) there are supplements, because the pricing is based on 4 people sharing. Anyway, I got to a provisional price of £529-50 before I had to start entering things like my name. Ally |

Pablo,
I felt quite sick just looking at those photos! They look like something out of a James Bond movie. I'd have said they were all pretty impossible to ski. And they have horribly frightening names, like 'mine shaft' and 'wounded knee'. They also all look off piste to me. Are they patrolled off piste, or what? Ally |

Thanks Admin,
The Easyjet consumer helpline telephone number is: 0871 244 2366 I got through pretty much straight away, both times I phoned them, presumably because no-one else could find the number! I had to phone them because I'd booked our seats months ahead using a passport which was due to run out before the flight, and then we got a new passport and I needed to give them the new passport number etc. There are no 'tickets' as such any more - the electronic ones are linked to the passports, and if the actual passport details are different to the ones you entered when booking the flights they say you won't be able to fly. The Easyjet lady who answered my call was very helpful and friendly, and she updated the details, and agreed to send me an e-mail saying she'd done so - which she later did. I expect one can update passport details somewhere on their website, but I couldn't find out how to do it. Ally |
