In relation to "industrial language" I find the worst offenders to be professional drivers who pass themselves off as skiers. These individuals also bring the new phenomenon to our resorts known as "piste rage" They are easily identified as they are often seen drinking and hanging around in groups on piste with bobble hats on. If you are unfortunate enough to see them call Crimestoppers immediately.

Morning Peps
Sorry Stewart, The early bird catches the worm  But watch Tony he may take you into custody 24 hours before your flight!
Thanks Trencher, that looks very 8) Your experience has been noted and I will save some money with the bench. Two questions - How do you maintain the ski in the right position on the carpet? Are there some inexpensive freestanding clamps or vices available on the market? I will google the Swix bench in the morning.

Thanks for sharing your set up with us :D
Thanks Dave I expect nothing more than high tech from the great man

Trencher, Can you share your ski workshop with us. Thanks
Thanks Trencher that is just the sort of information I need. I can get away with a cheaper domestic iron. I am going to have a go at sharpening my edges but will need some advice on the right angles to file furthermore, to keep the cost down I will invest in a B&D workmate. I have my old skis to practice on in the first instance. :-)
Affluent Norfolkeing oops careful

On a serious note, I have found a decent ski repair kit with Data wax. I will undertake my first ski service on return from Obergurgl. Do you use a specialist ski Iron or the old fashion (non-steam) one?
You need one of these Ian with fine Brandy of course :D
