Just retired my favouite Stockli's as they were too thin on the edges, and kept on getting core shots. No idea of the number of weeks use. They were left by our communal bins and were gone next day )

Some comments from F12 Tour users over on BackCountry.com

Boot Sole Lengths on Touring boots does tend to be shorter as the boot material is often PEBAX.

It's not generally good practice to wedge a Vibram cleated sole into a DIN binding with a Glide Plate, for the obvious reasons.

ISTR Sole in Cham have been putting Vibram soles on alpine boots, or it might be the other way around. If you are interested then get in touch.

I've had Fritschi's for 4 years+, I've never had a ski pop off, a pre-release or any other malfunction. The only thing that you'll likely miss is rubber shock absorbers in alpine bindings.

Definitely aim to do the Vallee Blanche, the scenery is remarkable. You will need a Guide, as their expertise in picking a route down the Glacier's crevasses is essential for a tourist. The Classic Route is not technically difficult, and it's around 22km.

You can keep costs down by joining a group, which the Guides companies will assemble. The Guide will supply safety equipment.
Don't forget your camera!

Glad you got your Hotel sorted, hope you have a blast 8)

I had read that women skiing in those countries recently were enjoying a faily relaxed lifestyle with less dress and association restrictions, but that their religeous leaders were not so happy. If I can find the article, I'll link to it.

Wouldn't it be considered a rude question to ask - like asking someone you just met how much they make per year? :)

I don't live in the mountain like you, and I am not going to MK to test skis, you just don't get enough to get a feel for them.

MK/Hemel/wherever will give you a feel for a how a ski is balanced, and what it's like at low speed on hard pack. It's not possible to run a ski at speed, but it's far from a waste of time.

I seem to recall that Sole Boot Lab, had a Whitedot Test Fleet in Chamonix this winter. If you fancy trying some out, get in touch with them.

Otherwise, at least one of the big stores in the main street had some Navis on display in the window. Saw plenty on the hill in December.
