Caron,
I'd like to see some photos please, as well, if you can spare the time to sort them out and upload them. I'd like to see how much Obergurgl has changed since we were there. I'm sorry to hear you were having trouble ski-ing, because of your leg, and I hope things go better for you on a snowboard. Ally |

We have about an inch, which all settled in about half an hour. We're not exactly snowed in, but I don't much fancy trying to drive out, because we have steep hills in both directions, and I hear there is a car upside down blocking one of our steep local lanes.

Stewart, If you'd come our way, via Fishguard to Rosslare, you'd have been fine, because there wasn't any snow here :D I hope everyone makes it to their ski resorts. The forecast does look pretty bad. Ally |

I don't suppose anyone is planning on coming this way, but for your information it's just started snowing quite heavily here. They shut my daughter's school early and I've just been to pick her up from the bus.
We had snow on New Year's Day here, but that's all, before this. But at least I did an emergency trip to Tesco for food this morning, in case we got snowed in. It happened about 29 years ago, and we were snowed in for 3 weeks with snow 20 foot deep in our lane and the other lanes around us. Ally |

I am going to hire one, because I can't be bothered with carrying one with me - I've got enough luggage as it is - see the packing list thread!
I am just not going to think about who was wearing it last, and whether they've got dandruff or nits or how often they wash their hair  I am hoping I will be able to see where I'm going when I'm wearing it. Ally |

You mean, you picked the wrong husband, or your husband made an error?   |

Jonah,
I'm really sorry someone nicked your skis. I hope you had another pair, or were able to hire some, for the rest of the time. I always hire mine, and so far no-one has nicked them. I usually take out extra insurance with the shop, just in case, although I have full ski insurance already from the post office. I reckon it's worth the extra few quid not to have to claim from the British insurers. Presumably the ski thieves can tell the difference between privately owned and hired skis. Ally |
