No personal experience, I'm afraid. All I did was look on the Skistar website for travel options. I have booked ski kit, passes, lessons and accommodation via the Skistar website and that seemed to go OK.

I'd agree re season. UK TOs not yet into Scandinavia so short season with TOs. I guess that they'll increase season length soon. Good point re drunk students. We tend to book cabins which are a bit more expensive and less likely to have students, bless them. Vertical is not big but doesn't bother us too much. |

Which resorts/companies have ski guiding, or group ski-ing (not lessons)

SCGB still operates guides/leaders in several countries - Austria, Switzerland, US and Andorra. Crystal still operating their guiding service in limited countries, inc Norway. Club Med operates what is effectively guiding in all their resorts if you are good enough for their Group 4.

Great news, Iceman. Always good to have boots that fit well. And also good to know about places that are good at fitting boots. I am from a family of flat wide feet (think hobbits, only shorter). Had to get the widest boots and have them jiggered about with to fit.

Check out the BBC presenter's daft touring race on BBC iPlayer. Mucking about on a Swiss glacier for a day or so, doing 110km. I think you'll see a bit of it on next Sunday's Ski Sunday. You can also watch the women's slalom on iPlayer.
