Vin chaud, or indeed vin froid!
I bought Ski Tracks for 69p, recommended by an instructor.

It's pretty cool. All the stats, speed, distance, no. runs, no. lifts, elevation. Plus it shows a neat map of the runs you've done, which if like me and have no clue what runs are called or where they go, is very useful explaining where you've been to others ;)

Hi,

I've done two seasons, without much skiing and yet made a lot of progress. In a big part it was that the few hours I wasn't helping my kids I had decent one on one private lessons.

I had a major breakthrough in the final week of last season skiing powder for the first time, and one of the key things was my instructor recognising the fear I couldn't see. At the beginning of every run, I have a routine that includes recognising the fear and going for it anyway.

This season started for me last weekend, and that routine kept my mind in the right place, and me on my feet. The confidence builds naturally now as I'm not struggling, and my speed increases with my technique.

So plus one for instruction, but she has to find the right teacher for her learning style.

Love it. But it reminds me of my second week of skiing when I returned to the hotel and proudly recounted my no-falls day to be told, 'well if you haven't fallen over at least 3 times in a day, you aren't trying hard enough' :(

I reckon it was probably sour grapes.

Either that or they were snowboarders! ;)

Well that was a fantastic start to the season. Cervinia was a much better choice than Zermatt, not least because Zermatt was closed due to wind all day today!

Good luck to the next out!
