Was this your "prize winning holiday"?

Yes its the all singing all dancing prize winning holiday. I was given dates so i picked the 20th March. Week later i booked flights as we had won the accomadation and lift passes, couldnt be bothered driving and it probably would of cost as much in diesel, wear and tear on car etc. Happy days!!!! :D

Get e mail saying they cant do 20th now as they had to "check availability first", can i go 27th. Cant get off work on the 27th and Ive paid for flights already for the 20th.So Im stuck with the flights. In fairness they offered some other resorts but with no lift passes so its starting to get expensive.

I will have to take a hit on my wallet. I honestly thought if you were given dates you pick said dates and go, maybe i acted to quick. If its to good to be true it probably is and all that.

All

Ive got 2 flights to Geneva with ski carriage for 1 set off skis for sale. Flights are on 20th March and will need a name change so a fee will be added to the price. I paid £186 for them and would accept £90.

Anyone want to buy them? if so PM me.

Anyone any ideas how i can get rid of them if no interest on here?

Cheers Dave for letting me put them on your site!

The first was to Zell Am See (Austria) in 1993 (I think - I was quite young!), and we had to get up at 5.30am to start queuing for this train that went through the mountain up to the glacier. Once up the top, the skiing was OK though.

Another year I went to Limone (Italy), and there was literally a few pistes open, all of which were sheet ice in the morning, and slushy by the end of the day. I think this was very late in the season though, and again, I was very young. The resorts did their best to put on other activities.

Since then, I've had great skiing every trip!

In Bansko afew years ago we skied on concrete, not the best ski holiday

ParalyticSkiCrazie wrote:Bad luck for your fiance MFC - I will be taking lots of books, DVD's, one of the apartments we are renting has Sky TV and my laptop - just in case my foot does not heal or is too bloody painful. It is frustrating being injured - I have had a few similar convo's with Mr PSC these last two weeks. My view is that I would rather be bored on holiday in the beautiful French Alps than sat at home. I also intend to make my way either by foot or ski to the Roc de Trois Marches cable up to Chalet des Neiges to have lunch with my party! Hopefully it will be sunny again by then.

Where did you stay? Have you booked your Sailing holiday/honeymoon yet?

Unfortunately not booked anything for the honeymoon. The nearest thing to sailing i think will be the "Great North Swim " in Lake Windermere which were doing.

We stayed in Les Menuires, Aconit Apts which were excellent. They have just had a refurb so everthing was bob on. The back door of Apts went straight onto a blue piste which went down to the Doron, Masse & Reberty lifts.

As for my knee I went down a pot hole like thing on piste . I carried on but my ski had other ideas and twisted my knee on the 1st day. Still had agreat time, as a matter of fact I bloody loved it :D but have to act sad infront of my better half

karen72 wrote:that sounds awul mfc. what bad luck for your other half. I think that is a good pact that you couldnt all have a miserable holiday. I hope you can claim on the insurance and maybe get another hol in before the season ends with the compen.

I have to be honest though, on my checklist of things to pack for a skiing holiday I do not have a slot for "things to keep me occupied in case i am hurt" lol but knowing me (my hubby calls me Dr Doom!) I maybe should add that to the list.

That bits interesting! I said to my better half " why dont we go to the doctors here and get a note saying your to injured to ski maybe we could get some compo back"

Mrs mfc says "no"

mfc says "but thats a waste of money were insured" :D
