Winter

I fail to see the point of summer anymore. Winter then Spring, over and over would suit me just fine :)
Buy both and with the change from that get a helicopter, jobs a good 'un )
Someone call me? So long time no speak peeps, still here in Zermatt, struggling by and enjoying the long weekend we have for some welcome but religious reason.

Yep, lots of rain here in the Oberwallis, which is much needed after a dry winter. As a result we are having intermittent powder days up top, however my news is anecdotal. I simply can't bring myself to go up there after being spoilt all winter with 70 days in total ) I've resorted to hiking and cycling now (shocking huh?).

Halfway through June and still open to Trockner Steg, looks good for a few weeks yet for all you intrepid summer skiers. Myself, I am trying to justify the cost of a 10 day trip to South America for some heliboarding.

Hope everyone is well and had a safe and fun winter!! Mine was mainly Zermatt/Cervina with side trips to Mayrhofen, Engelberg and Chamonix. I didn't even manage Saas Fee around the corner  might head up there next weekend for a slide on the glacier if I can be arsed to get out of bed early.

Point being, the mountains are changeable places. Anyone who expects 30cm of powder and blue sky everyday should chose another holiday, and anyone who takes the word of 1 single affiliated website in this day of the Internet shouldn't be allowed holidays at all.
Everyone should be forced to learn how to ride ice, slush, grass and rock as part of their rite of passage. You never know when you'll need it. In the last 4 weeks I have surfed down the Ahorn in Mayrhofen, carved good glacier on the Hintertux, ridden big powder in Zermatt and vibrated my kidneys to death on the bumps in Chamonix (today). My season isn't over yet :-)
Never going skiing in .....

I have ridden in 80 cm of powder(overnight) in Austria (Hintertux) in early October. Go high and go near glaciers.
1 May ski day

Zermatt still insist on 1st of May being the last full resort day if 2011. Runs out will be gone but i would not rule it out. What about Saas Fee, they had bigger snow than Zermatt this year.
