Now then (Admin readies his famous pruning shears)...
Opinions are always welcome; strongly held and strongly (and politely) expressed opinions are no problem at all, provided that differing opinions (and their owners) are respected. play on... |

Can of worms duly opened... interestingly, it appears the EHIC does cover medical treatment in Switzerland, see the NHS guidance for Switzerland here. Interestingly it also states coverage of 50% of "emergency rescue" to a maximum of CHF 5000 - so that should cover the first 100metres of your airlift off the mountain then... Pretty clearly, the EHIC is a useful top-up (especially as it's free) to cover the actual medical treatment in relevant countries, but is NOT a substitute for proper insurance. Mountain rescue costs are often quoted well into five figures if they include a helicopter... |

Coming soon to J2Ski.com...
We're soon to roll out a re-vamp of our snow report pages, that will include historical data compared to current... 8) |

 brilliant. I knew I needed a GPS gadget; now I know I need a laminator for skiing too...

Yup. Bag those flights now, then kick back and wait - hold your nerve until the New Year! 8) That week is going to be quiet - there will likely be plenty of accommodation available and there are a hundred ski resorts within an easy reach of Geneva. The main variable in your planning will be the snow. You'll need to go high if the snows are late or sparse, but if they come early then your choice will be even wider. Investigate transport now; if you're happy hiring a car then best to book one now - even on quiet weekends stock can be limited in January; hire from the Swiss side for ease (Swiss vignette and snow tyres included). Oh, and start looking forward to it... January is one of my favourite times to ski; quiet slopes, usually good snow and reasonable prices. |

Yes but are the lifts open yet?
Great view Ross - is that near home? |

If you're absolutely sure it's only a migraine, then give NHS Direct a call now and talk to someone - we've found them very helpful. Otherwise see your doc straight away.
The rash / tumbler is the classic meningitis test, so don't take any chances and don't delay. |
