Ah... you'd not recommend a hotel-room hairdryer and a tumbler stuffed into a pair of ski socks then?   |

Tony either mentioned Mayrhofen... and Dave and Jan drank him under the table... or he came out with some Welsh jokes and "Thelma and Louise" have left him up a mountain tied to a piste-basher... 8)
...or maybe they never got further than Jan's bar... |

Wish I could take credit but it was just a disturbance in the force... fixed now. Strange that it should be Niederau though. |

A big yo ho ho from me to all of you... young un's asleep, seniors are off to midnight mass so Mrs Admin and me are gonna kick back and do our bit to reduce the numbers of mince pies that have been threatening to swamp us... 8)
NORAD are currently tracking Santa in Cameroon so he's on his way... http://www.noradsanta.org/en/home.html Have a fantastic time between now and whenever you get sucked back to your PCs... |

Me too... although when I skied it <cough> years ago it was a Black run with a large hand-painted skull and crossbones, which I took to be warning me of pirates, nailed to a stick at the top. 8) |

330m drop over 1km - the piste even has it's own page on Wikipedia :- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Chavanette Definitely not one for the faint-hearted and the ride down the chair to inspect it is something I'd highly recommend when approaching it for the first time. The entry is narrow, often icy / scraped and steep. It also feels very exposed as you can see pretty much the whole slope falling away below you (only obscured by moguls the size of VW Beetles at the top). |
